** UPDATE ** from our friend Desiree Miller at StressFreeBaby.com: HEADS UP STAR WARS FANS! Saturday, May the Fourth (…be with you…) is international Star Wars Day, and Hasbro has a Promo Code SWFANDAY for 20% off any Star Wars toy on HasbroToyShop.com, only on May 4th!*
Yep - we celebrate this one every year. This year our celebration may include driving into the Big City and going to see IronMan 3 on the big screen. This has really little to nothing to do with Star Wars but it is a movie and there should be an explosion or two and some cool techy stuff.
The only thing you could love more than Star Wars is Disney. But now you don't have to choose! Disney recently bought Star Wars. During the Month of May they have Star Wars Weekends lined up for those people who want the best of both worlds. BUT for one day only Disney will have a special event called "Limited Time Magic" celebrating Star Wars on Star Wars Day.
According to Wikipedia the first time the term "May the Fourth be with you" was ever used was back in 1979 when Margaret Thatcher was elected Britain's first female Prime Minister on May 4, 1979. So there is a long, fine, tradition of celebrating this honored day.
Celebrate with Disney, celebrate with your family, or just put a movie in the DVD and celebrate with a big bowl of popcorn. Choose wisely you must and hesitate not.
Do not Fear Star Wars Day: Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering. YODA, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
